Dr Hani Najm is a distinguished Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with extensive experience in complex cardiac conditions for both adults and children. He is recognised for his innovative surgical techniques and his commitment to advancing cardiovascular care. Dr Najm has held senior leadership positions, including Head of Cardiac Surgery, where he was instrumental in developing a leading heart programme.
His clinical focus is on paediatric and adult congenital heart surgery, performing a high volume of procedures to correct complex heart defects. Dr Najm is also dedicated to research and has contributed significantly to the field through numerous publications and international lectures. His work includes the development of pioneering surgical methods that have improved outcomes for patients with challenging cardiac anomalies.
Dr Najm earned his medical degree from King Saud University in Riyadh. He pursued extensive postgraduate training in Canada, completing residencies in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery, followed by a subspecialty fellowship in paediatric and adult cardiac surgery. He also holds a Master's degree in Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Toronto. Dr Najm is a past president of the Saudi Heart Association and has been elected as the next Vice President of the American College of Cardiology.
