Dr Mellor has particular expertise in sports cardiology, including the assessment of athletes with palpitations or collapse and in pre-participation screening of both amateur and professional athletes. Furthermore, Dr Mellor has expertise in the diagnosis and management of genetic heart conditions with a risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
Dr Mellor holds professional memberships with the Royal College of Physicians of London, the British Heart Rhythm Society and the Association of Inherited Cardiac Conditions. He remains an active researcher, having published widely in his field of expertise and has current research interests in genotype-phenotype correlation in inherited arrhythmia syndromes, as well as unexplained cardiac arrest.
