Dr. François Bruchou is a Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in upper limb surgery, with a focus on shoulder and elbow procedures. He studied medicine in Paris and completed his residency with a concentration on hand and arthroscopic surgery.
He founded SOS Hand in Trappes, one of the largest private centers for hand surgery in France, together with Dr. Christian Couturier. The center currently includes 15 orthopedic surgeons. He also practiced at Clinique Ambroise Paré in Neuilly, where he established the French Shoulder Institute (L’Institut Français de l’Épaule), dedicated to trauma, sports injuries, and arthritis care. In Paris, he collaborated with Dr. Valenti at Clinique Bizet to set up a shoulder surgery education center. He was affiliated with Ambroise Paré University Hospital in Boulogne and taught at the Fer à Moulin Surgery School in Paris, where he worked with Professor Hardy. His teaching included live surgery demonstrations for international training.
Dr. Bruchou has been involved in the University Diploma of Arthroscopy organized by the French Arthroscopy Society, where he has trained one orthopedic surgeon annually. He also spent four years in Western China teaching arthroscopic shoulder surgery and developed collaborations between French and Chinese orthopedic societies.
In France, he introduced Office Surgeries (WALANT procedures), performed under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting. Since October 2023, he has been practicing full-time in Dubai.
He is a member of the French Orthopedic and Traumatology Surgery Society, the French Arthroscopy Society, the French Shoulder and Elbow Society, and the European Shoulder and Elbow Society.
He sees patients with various upper limb disorders and injuries, including the following:
