About Dr Fiona Foo
Dr Fiona Foo, an interventional and general cardiologist, works with Sydney Cardiology Group and has practices in Sydney, Chatswood, and Bella Vista. Dr Foo also holds accreditation as a medical officer at a number of hospitals including Sydney Adventist Hospital, Norwest Hospital, and the Eastern Heart Clinic. She specialises in interventional cardiology, angiography, and angioplasty, and her interests include coronary treatments using the radial method, the use of fractional flow reserve, acute coronary syndromes, the cardiac risks of noncardiac surgery following coronary revascularisation, women and ischemic heart disease, and cardiology in the developing world. She takes a patient-centric approach to medicine and tailors evidence-based treatments for her patients, ensuring great communication and compassion at all times. Dr Foo began her medical career after earning her MBBS (Hons) at the University of Western Australia. She went on to complete her basic physician training at Concord Hospital before specialising in cardiology at the Fremantle Hospital, WA. She subsequently undertook fellowships in interventional cardiology at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Canada and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Scotland. Dr Foo is an advocate of improving knowledge on heart disease in women and regularly writes and presents her findings in the area. She is also interested in sports cardiology as well as the preoperative cardia assessment of patients prior to non-cardiac surgery. In her free time, Dr Foo enjoys spending time in the gym, swimming, or doing yoga.
