About

Dr. Emily Cary is a General Practitioner with a specialist interest in women's health and menopause care. She is proud to hold accreditation as a British Menopause Society specialist and is a co-founder of Norfolk Menopause. Dr. Cary is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalised support for women navigating every stage of menopause, including tailored guidance on hormone replacement therapy (HRT). She takes a holistic approach, addressing not only physical symptoms but also emotional and lifestyle factors to help her patients achieve optimal well-being.

Dr. Cary completed her medical training at Cambridge University and spent a few years in general hospital medicine gaining membership in the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). She later transitioned to General Practice, and with 19 years exeperience as an NHS GP she still enjoys its comprehensive, patient-centred approach. She has completed diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Planning and in recent years has focused her interest around menopause transition. She holds the British Menopause society (BMS) Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care and is a recognised BMS specialist.

Her areas of expertise extend to mental health, peri-menopausal symptom control, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), and lifestyle and nutritional advice. She believes in empowering women to make informed decisions about their care, offering detailed discussions about HRT options and fine-tuning treatments to suit individual needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Cary is an Honorary Associate Professor at the University of East Anglia, where she contributes to the education of future medical professionals.

Dr. Cary takes pride in providing her patients with the time, attention, and expertise they deserve. Whether addressing complex hormone-related conditions, offering psychological support, or crafting lifestyle interventions, she is committed to helping women feel their best.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
