Dr Verghese Mathew is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes with over three decades of experience. He currently sees patients at Hull Royal Infirmary and private patients at Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital.
Dr Mathew completed his primary medical qualification (MBBS) at the University of Delhi, India in 1981, followed by his MD in Paediatrics at the same university. He later moved to the UK and completed his further training in South Wales before he was appointed as a consultant in paediatrics at Hull Royal Infirmary. Dr Mathew also holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH) and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
In his current clinical practice, he specialises in paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. He sees children with all types of endocrine problems, particularly problems of growth and puberty. Dr Mathew also has extensive expertise in general paediatric conditions and paediatric gastroenterology.
He holds professional memberships with the British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes and the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes.
