About

Dr Susannah Woodrow is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with over a decade of experience, specialising in advanced endoscopy and the diagnosis and treatment of complex upper and lower gastrointestinal conditions. She trained at the Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine before undertaking specialist training in London at leading centres including St Mark’s Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, and King’s College Hospital. Her final year of specialist training focused on advanced endoscopic techniques at St Mary’s Hospital.

Alongside her clinical training, she completed a higher degree in medical leadership through Alliance Manchester Business School in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians. She was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in 2021.

Dr Woodrow’s NHS practice is based at Frimley Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, where she works within a multidisciplinary team delivering specialist gastrointestinal care. She is Clinical Lead for the endoscopy service across Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, overseeing services delivered at Frimley Park, Wexham Park, and Heatherwood hospitals. She also serves as Clinical Lead for the regional endoscopy network covering Surrey Heartlands and the Frimley Integrated Care Board area.

In her private practice, she sees patients at the Parkside Suite at Frimley Park Hospital and at Spire Clare Park Hospital.

Her specialist clinical interests include Barrett’s oesophagus, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and the endoscopic treatment of early upper gastrointestinal cancers. She also manages a wide range of small and large bowel conditions, including coeliac disease, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. She has a particular focus on advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), HALO radiofrequency ablation, capsule endoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, and the management of large colonic polyps, with a strong emphasis on minimally invasive, patient-centred care.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
