About Prof Sean Whittaker
Professor Sean Whittaker is a Consultant Dermatologist at The Wellington Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He specialises in skin cancers including melanoma and cutaneous lymphomas. Professor Whittaker graduated from the Manchester Medical School in 1981, before completing his specialist training in London. In 1994 he achieved his postgraduate (MD) doctorate and was made a Fellow of the London Royal College of Physicians in 1995. He worked at a Consultant Dermatologist at Royal Free Hospital for a number of years, before taking up his current posts. In addition to his clinical work, Professor Whittaker is Professor of Cutaneous Oncology in the School of Basic and Medical Biosciences at King's College London, Medical Director for the NHSE South East Genomic Medicine Service and Laboratory Hub and Co-Director for the KHP South East London Comprehensive Cancer Centre. Previous posts include Clinical Director for Specialist Ambulatory Services and Specialist National CRG commissioning lead for Dermatology and Skin cancer. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in clinical and translational research in primary cutaneous lymphomas.
