Dr Rakesh Patalay is an experienced Consultant Dermatologist with over 10 years of consultant practice and a reputation as one of London’s leading skin specialists. He practices across London and Reading providing expert, individualised care and bringing the best proven treatments to you.
Nationally recognised for his expertise in laser treatments, skin surgery, acne scarring, and early skin cancer diagnosis, Dr Patalay offers comprehensive services including lesion assessment and removal, Mohs micrographic surgery, cryotherapy, cosmetic injectables, all laser treatments including for pigmentation and resurfacing.
Dr Patalay qualified with an MB BS from the University of London in 1999, gained a PhD in skin imaging in 2013, and became a consultant dermatologist in 2014. He completed a Mohs Surgery Fellowship at the St John's Institute of Dermatology, London, and had an internship in Applied Biophotonics and Laser Dermatology at the Beckman Laser Institute. He is past president of the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group and currently works as an NHS consultant at Guys & St Thomas Hospital.
Alongside clinical practice, he is involved in medical research, and regularly teaches and lectures nationally and internationally.
