About Dr Peter O'Kane
Dr O'Kane is a Cardiologist. They graduated with a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physiology from the University of London and a Medical Degree (MBBS) from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1995. Dr O'Kane was awarded numerous prizes including the Llewelyn Prize for the second best distinction in medical finals.
After attaining membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) during senior house officer training at Guy's Hospital, they commenced speciality training in Cardiology as a research registrar at St Thomas' Hospital in 1998. Dr O'Kane was subsequently awarded a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) by the University of London for a thesis on the role of nitric oxide in coronary heart disease.
Their training in clinical cardiology was completed on the South Thames NTN scheme working at Worthing Hospital, St Peter's Hospital Chertsey, and St George's Hospital London. Dr O'Kane then completed a 2-year sub-specialization programme in Interventional Cardiology at St Thomas' supervised by Professor Simon Redwood. They were invited to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2012.
