Dr Penelope Tympanidis is a Consultant Dermatologist and former Clinical Research Registrar at the Department of Dermatology at UCL/Middlesex Hospitals and at the Royal/UCL Medical School Campus. She is a Specialist in Dermatology and Venereology, paying special clinic interest to minimally invasive anti-aging techniques.
After completing her medical degree at the University of Rome, she was then awarded a Scholarship in 1991 enrolling on the Cutaneous Surgery Course at the New England Medical Centre. She has extensive experience working in the field having gained first hand training at the UCL Hospital Trust in general dermatology, photodermatology, allergy and patch testing, paediatric dermatology, skin cancer clinics, vulval clinics and genitourinary medicine, laser treatment sessions, and dermatopathology.
In addition to founding 'Dermaperfect', a skin clinic based in Harley Street, she also trains both junior plastic surgeons and junior dermatologists.
Dr Tympanidis was the first dermatologist to perform biostimulation agents such as L poly-lactic acid since 2000, for skin rejuvenation and acne scars remodelling and she was the first to introduce facial sculpting and cheekbone enhancement as described by ‘The Telegraph' in 2005.
Her MD research and thesis is on vulval dermatology. She is considered an expert on acne scar treatment and vulval dermatology conditions.
