Dr Ottayil is an experienced paediatrician. He is the lead for paediatric epilepsy and neurology service in Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford. Dr Ottayil is a member of British Paediatric Neurology Association and also teaches in paediatric epilepsy training courses. He also hold qualification for medical education and is a royal college tutor for post graduate paediatric doctors working in Broomfield Hospital. He is also an examiner for royal college of paediatrics and child health.
Dr Ottayil treat all types of general paediatric conditions between the ages of 0-18. He got special interest in management of children with epilepsy, head ache and other neurological conditions.
Dr Ottayil conducts appointments in a relaxed child friendly atmosphere to make sure that concerns of children and their parents are addressed.
He completed specialist training in the East of England including a special interest module in paediatric neurology. He joined Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust in 2013 as Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in paediatric neurology. Dr Ottayil has been instrumental in developing a new multi-disciplinary specialist paediatric epilepsy clinic at Broomfield Hospital. He is currently the lead for the paediatric neurology service and also holds an honorary consultant post in paediatric neurology in Great Ormond Street Hospital. He is also the departmental lead for audit.
