Dr. Michael Burdon is a highly regarded specialist consultant in sport, exercise and musculoskeletal medicine, based in the London area. Graduating from the Royal Free Hospital, University of London in 1994, Dr. Burdon initially pursued a career as a general practitioner (GP) in a busy city practice. However, his passion for sports and exercise medicine (SEM) led him to further specialise in this field.
In 2004, Dr. Burdon completed a diploma in SEM, followed by obtaining an MSc at Bath University in 2010. His dedication and expertise led to him becoming a Consultant in 2013 after being added to the GMC Specialist register.
Over the last 9 years Dr Burdon has been working at Pure Sports Medicine and is now working full time in the Kensington clinic. He has also been an examiner on the sports medicine MSc course in Bath and more recently at QMUL, London.
Dr Burdon is a keen runner and has completed several marathons and 2 previous ultramarathons. He enjoys attending the gym also on a regular basis.
Dr. Burdon’s experience spans across various sports including football, rugby, swimming, diving, hockey, and sailing. Notably, he provided medical coverage for all aquatic sports at the London 2012 Olympics and has accompanied teams on international tours, such as the diving squad to Mexico and GB Hockey tours to India and Malaysia.
