About Mr Mark George

Mr Mark George is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He also performs private work at London Bridge Hospital and HCA UK at The Shard. He is a specialist in the treatment of advanced primary and recurrent colorectal cancer, as well as laparoscopic (keyhole) colorectal surgery. He also has expertise in pilonidal sinus surgery, haemorrhoids, fistula and fissure surgery, and hernia repairs. Mr George qualified from St Mary's Hospital in 1991, before completing higher surgical training in the South East London Region. He undertook research at the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research and was awarded his Master of Surgery in 2002. He was appointed as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon to Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals in 2003. He is now the Clinical Lead for colorectal cancer and the Regional Anal and Cancer Surgeon. He is a keen triathlete and one day will get to Hawaii.
