Dr Joe Datt
About
Dr Datt has conducted extensive research on a variety of rare paediatric conditions, including Mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), paediatric multiple sclerosis, haemophilia, sickle cell anaemia, beta-thalassaemia, X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), vitamin D deficiency, achondroplasia, primary immunodeficiencies (PID), and various paediatric cancers.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr Datt serves as an educational supervisor with the General Medical Council (GMC) and is a postgraduate tutor and board examiner with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine (FPM). He is deeply committed to patient-centred care, particularly in raising awareness of rare paediatric diseases and advancing medical education.
Dr Datt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Medicinal Chemistry with Drug Design, a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine from Oxford, and a medical degree from the University of East Anglia. He has also pursued postgraduate certifications in Child Health and conducted significant research in gastroesophageal reflux disease and leukaemia at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, USA. He also holds a Fellowship with the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, awarded by the Fellowship and Awards Committee.
