Dr Calonje is a council member of the section of Dermatology of the Royal Society of Medicine. They are also on the council of the British Division of the International Academy of Pathology. Dr Calonje qualified in Clinical Pathology at the University of el Valle, Cali, Colombia. Following this, they completed a Fellowship in Dermatopathology in St Louis, Missouri. This was followed by a further Fellowship in Dermatopathology at St John's Institute of Dermatology, London, United Kingdom. Dr Calonje then undertook a Fellowship in Soft Tissue Tumours in London, United Kingdom. They are a member of a number of professional bodies, including the British Society of Dermatopathology, the Colombian Society of Pathology and the French Society of Dermatologists.
