Dr Calum Lyon is an award-winning dermatologist based in York. He specialises in skin cancer and offers a diverse range of dermatological procedures. Graduating from the University of Cambridge in 1991 he undertook specialist training in dermatology at the Salford Royal Hospital in Manchester. Further training included treatments for contact allergies and skin prick testing. Having been appointed consultant status in 2001 he focussed his expertise on the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and dermatological surgery. Additionally, he frequently runs clinics for skin conditions related to inflammatory bowel disease and stomas.
Supplementary to his clinical work Dr Lyon has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to many notable dermatology textbooks. He is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in York and Manchester and holds the NHS Quality Award for his stoma dermatology specialist clinic in Salford Manchester in regards to his innovative clinical care. Furthermore, he holds the British Medical Association book prize (Highly Commended) for Abdominal Stomas and their skin disorders.
