About

Clement Tsang is a specialist consultant surgeon with expertise in upper gastrointestinal, bariatric, and cosmetic surgery, with a strong focus on supporting patients in achieving long-term weight loss and improved body contour following weight loss procedures.

He has performed more than 5,000 weight loss surgeries, including gastric balloon procedures, gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass operations. In addition, he offers body contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, arm lift, thigh lift, and breast lift surgery to address excess skin following weight loss.

Dr Tsang completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 1998 before pursuing specialist training in general surgery with a focus on minimally invasive techniques. He trained as an advanced surgical trainee at Royal North Shore Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, where he completed his general surgery fellowship. He subsequently undertook further subspecialty training at St Vincent’s Hospital in advanced laparoscopic, upper gastrointestinal, and bariatric surgery.

He also gained additional international training at Prince of Wales Hospital in breast and thyroid surgery, and spent time in hospitals across South East Asia developing expertise in laparoscopic gastrectomy and oesophagectomy for cancer. He continues to advance his knowledge by attending international conferences such as the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons annual meeting, where he keeps up to date with innovations including single-incision surgery, micro-instrument techniques, and robotic surgery.

Dr Tsang also holds a Master of Surgery degree focusing on gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernia surgery, and the metabolic effects of surgery. He has completed fellowship training with the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery and Medicine and is among the few surgeons in Australia formally recognised as a Cosmetic Surgeon.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
