Dr Catherine Hibberd is an Orthopaedic Surgeon practising in Kogarah, New South Wales, with a subspecialty interest in hip and knee arthroplasty and experience in both adult and paediatric trauma. Following completion of her specialist training, she worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St George Hospital, a Level 1 trauma centre, and at Sutherland Hospital, where she was involved in general orthopaedic trauma care. She subsequently completed a clinical fellowship in hip and knee arthroplasty and lower extremity reconstruction at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, gaining experience in primary, complex primary, and revision joint replacement surgery.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Hibberd has completed a Master of Surgery (by Research) in Orthopaedic Surgery and a Master of Surgical Education through the University of Melbourne, achieving First Class Honours in both degrees. She has contributed to a number of first-author publications and has presented her research at national and international scientific meetings.
Dr Hibberd is passionate about education and supporting the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. She is actively involved in the supervision and teaching of trainees, and currently serves as Director of Training at St George and Sutherland Hospitals for the national orthopaedic training program (AOA21).
