Mr Biswajit Ray

About
Mr Ray completed his medical degree and initial surgical training in New Delhi, India, before moving to the UK in 2000. He undertook basic surgical training at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and completed further academic work at the University of Hull, where he was awarded an MD. He subsequently completed higher surgical training in general surgery within the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery.
Following this, he undertook advanced fellowships in reconstructive and oncoplastic breast surgery at the Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow and the Nightingale Breast Centre at the University Hospital of South Manchester, gaining extensive subspecialty expertise. He was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at Harrogate District Hospital in August 2014.
Mr Ray manages all aspects of breast conditions, with a particular focus on the surgical management of breast cancer using oncoplastic and reconstructive approaches. He is actively involved in medical education and has contributed to the training of medical students and surgical trainees. He has also served as faculty on national surgical training courses, including the Royal College of Surgeons’ Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP) programme.
