During his time, Dr Hameed served as the clinical lead for paediatric neurorehabilitation and held visiting consultant positions at the Royal London Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London.
Specialising in complex movement disorders and neurorehabilitation in children, Dr Hameed focuses on managing dystonia, tremor, ataxia, and spasticity. His extensive expertise includes the management of conditions such as cerebral palsy, genetic movement disorders, brain trauma, and other acquired brain injuries in children. Dr Hameed also has keen interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in neuroscience.
His research pursuits delve into neuroprotection, excitotoxicity, and the role of neuroscience in neurorehabilitation, culminating in a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Bristol in 2014. Dr. Hameed is an active member of the Executive Board of the International Child Neurology Association, where he chairs the Education Committee. Additionally, he serves as a Program Director at the International Child Neurology Teaching Network (ICNTN) and assumes the role of Managing Editor for the Journal of the International Child Neurology Association.
