About

Ben is a Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist with a passion for therapeutic endoscopy and a particular focus on hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) medicine. His practice is guided by a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, and a holistic approach to managing complex patients. Ben strives to innovate in endoscopic techniques and apply creative solutions to challenging cases, especially in settings where advanced tools like endoscopic suturing devices may not be available.

Ben completed his Bachelor of Advanced Science with first class honours at the University of Sydney and obtained his medical degree at the same institute. He was fellowed with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2022. His training has spanned leading centres in Australia and the UK, including John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Monash Medical Centre, and St George Hospital. Ben’s endoscopic expertise includes ERCP, EUS, enteroscopy, and complex polyp resection, while he has experience participating in many specialty clinics including dysphagia, autoimmune hepatobiliary disease and inflammatory bowel disease clinics at tertiary centres.

Ben is passionate about research and has presented work at major international conferences, including Digestive Diseases Week in a presidential plenary, United European Gastroenterology Week, and the British Society of Gastroenterology Live where he was an invited speaker. He has published in several journals including Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His research has focused on innovative techniques in endoscopic management, digital cholangioscopy, and the integration of new technologies such as Purastat haemostatic gel and the OverStitch suturing system.

Teaching is an important part of Ben’s career, and he has been actively involved in educating medical students, junior doctors, and advanced trainees. He has also contributed to clinical leadership through committee roles at Blacktown and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospitals, and he completed the LEAP Future Leadership Development Program.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
