About Mr Aruna Munasinghe
Mr. Aruna Munasinghe is a Consultant General Laparoscopic Surgeon, with a special interest in Upper GI and Weight Loss Surgery. He has an NHS base at Bedfordshire Hospitals where he is the Clinical Lead for Safety and Clinical Governance, and the welfare of his patients' is at the heart of all of his practice. Mr. Munasinghe qualified from Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital, and has enjoyed outstanding Postgraduate Training in London, the South East and the West Midlands. He undertook a period of research at Imperial College London and a fellowship in Bariatric and Complex Upper GI Surgery at St George's Hospital, London. In addition to maintaining high standards in his NHS and Private Practice, he is also a passionate educator and is a trainer in Bariatric Surgery, Keyhole Hernia Repair, Trauma and Endoscopy. Mr. Munasinghe is pleased to offer a large range of common general surgical procedures which will be performed through a keyhole route wherever possible to minimise pain and for a faster recovery. His main areas of interest are in the treatment of Obesity, Reflux Disease, Gallstones and Hernia. He is happy to see patients of varying complexity, for both primary and revision (redo-) procedures.
