Armin Philipp nimmt regelmäßig an klinischen Studien teil, unter anderem zu den Themen Psoriasis, Behandlung des Melanoms und zum Einsatz von Botulinumtoxin in der Faltenbehandlung und bei Hyperhidrose. Seine Expertise erweiterte er durch eine Fortbildung in der Lidchirurgischen Augenklinik Trier im Jahr 2004. Seit 2005 ist er als "Onkologisch verantwortlicher Dermatologe" anerkannt.
