About Dr Angela George
Dr Angela George is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Consultant in Oncogenetics. Dr George specialises in the systemic treatment of gynaecological cancers and has a particular focus on the use of genomic information in treatment. Dr George is involved in multiple national and international groups, including the National Cancer Research Institute Gynaecological Cancers Group, the Precision Medicine working group for the European Society of Medical Oncology and the British Society of Genetic Medicine. They are also the Cancer Clinical Lead for the North London Genomic Medicine Service and co-chairs the molecular tumour board. Dr George has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and undertakes research into the genetics of ovarian and breast cancer. Dr George completed their specialty training in Medical Oncology in New Zealand and began as a Consultant Medical Oncologist with a particular interest in ovarian and breast cancer. They subsequently moved to The Royal Marsden Hospital, where they worked in the Gynaecology unit, then began research into the germline genetics of ovarian cancer. During this time, they led the implementation of the Mainstreaming Cancer Genetics programme within the Gynaecology and Breast units. After completion of their thesis, they were appointed as a Consultant in Oncogenetics and Medical Oncologist (Gynaecology) at The Royal Marsden. In addition to their work in the Gynaecology Unit, they are Clinical Lead for Cancer Genetics and the Mainstreaming Cancer Genetics programme and Clinical Director of Genomics at The Royal Marsden. They are also continuing their research into the genetics of ovarian and breast cancer.
