About
Mr. Waton completed his medical education at Newcastle University School of Medicine in 2006 and developed a strong interest in Orthopaedic Surgery. He underwent his junior medical and Higher Specialist Orthopaedic Training in the North East and Cumbria regions. Following his registrar training, he pursued two Fellowships in Auckland, New Zealand, where he gained extensive experience in all aspects of knee surgery and further specialised in hip and knee replacement surgery.
In 2018, Mr. Waton was appointed as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. He provides comprehensive orthopaedic care to his patients and has a particular expertise in knee surgery, knee ligament and cartilage injuries, knee instability and pain, and knee arthritis.
At Spire Washington Hospital, Mr. Waton offers a range of treatments to address orthopaedic conditions. These include knee replacement, knee arthroscopy surgery, knee ligament surgery, osteotomy surgery. He is also skilled in performing procedures such as meniscal root tear repair, treatment of osteoarthritis, partial and total knee replacements, management of sports knee injuries, and tibial osteotomy.
