About
Dr Wirth has expertise in a range of areas within oncology. Dr Wirth has a particular interest in the management of haematological, thoracic and CNS malignancies.
Dr Wirth is actively involved in research, with a focus on radiotherapy for initial and salvage therapy for a range of lymphomas and the use of PET scanning for staging and response assessment in lymphomas. They have been a lead investigator on national clinical trials and an International Extra-nodal Lymphoma Study Group study.
Dr Wirth is a respected leader in the field of oncology. They are an editorial board member for Leukemia and Lymphoma and have been a member of the UICC TNM Expert Advisory Panel on Lymphoma and on the scientific advisory committee for aggressive lymphomas of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group. They have served on State and National guidelines committees for lymphoma and are a founding member of the International Lymphoma Radiation Oncology Group.
