About
Professor Chilton is actively involved in national initiatives to enhance the quality and safety of endoscopic procedures. He authored the National Quality Assurance Guidance for Colonoscopy and serves as a national faculty endoscopy trainer, contributing to the education and development of clinicians in the field. He is the midlands lead for endoscopy.
His clinical interests also include the management of bowel disease, assessing family risk of bowel cancer, and advancing patient care through evidence-based, endoscopic techniques. Professor Chilton has a long-standing commitment to patient safety and care quality, and previously held the role of Medical Director at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Alongside his clinical work, he continues to lead efforts in developing and refining safe systems of organisational care delivery, with a focus on improving both patient outcomes and experience.
