About Dr Alan Cox
Dr. Alan Cox has consistently demonstrated a commitment to providing friendly, patient-centred care throughout his career. For over 15 years, he has delivered a comprehensive vitreoretinal service at Gartnavel, managing both vitreoretinal cases and complex cataract surgeries. In addition, he performs a high volume of cataract surgeries at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital (GJNH) while actively teaching cataract surgery to trainees. Passionate about education, Dr. Cox has had the privilege of mentoring the next generation of vitreoretinal surgeons through the prestigious Tennent Institute’s VR Fellowship. Beyond his work in Glasgow, he has travelled overseas to participate in several cataract camps in Ethiopia, an experience that has further enriched his professional expertise. His role as an appraiser for consultants underscores his dedication to maintaining the highest standards and professionalism in all aspects of healthcare.
