Western Orthopaedics is led by specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Pavitar Sunner. He specialises in hip, knee and shoulder surgery and has extensive experience in minimally invasive techniques, arthroscopic procedures, and sports medicine. Dr Sunner's journey in the field began in 1989 when he completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney. Subsequently, he honed his skills through additional training and a fellowship in Winnipeg, Canada.
In 2002, Dr Sunner returned to Penrith, founding Western Orthopaedics as a private practice. Committed to staying up to date with the latest orthopaedic advancements, he continues to engage in research, incorporating new procedures and refining existing methods to ensure that patients receive the best orthopaedic care.
Dr Sunner is dedicated to understanding each patient's individual needs and works with them to deliver successful orthopaedic surgery outcomes. The practice prides itself on a patient-centric approach, ensuring that individuals receive the attention and care necessary for proper recovery and healing.
Western Orthopaedics is an ever-evolving practice, embracing innovations such as computer-navigated knee replacement surgery. The team specialises in: shoulder stabilisation, hip arthroscopy, arthroscopic knee reconstruction, rotator cuff repair of the shoulder, arthroplasty procedures and ACL reconstruction, as well as trauma, arthritis and sports injuries.
