Bei vielen PatientInnen, besonders bei Erwachsenen, spielt die „Sichtbarkeit" der Zahnspange eine besondere Rolle, darum könnten zahnfarbene Keramikbrackets eine Alternative sein. Keramikbrackets haben eine hochpolierte Oberfläche, die weder Farbstoffe aus Nahrungsmitteln noch aus Getränken aufnimmt. Das macht keramische Brackets für viele PatientInnen zu einer ästhetischen Alternative zu Metallbrackets.
Für PatientInnen, die eine festsitzende Apparatur ablehnen gibt es mit dursichtigen Schienen (Alginertherapie) eine sehr gute Alternative. Damit können bestimmte Zahnfehlstellungen bei Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen korrigiert werden. Diese innovative Technologie macht es einfach, Ihre Zähne ohne Bänder, Brackets oder Drähte zu begradigen. Die PatientInnen tragen die Aligner 22 Stunden pro Tag und entfernen sie nur zum Essen und Zähneputzen.
