About Mr Tomas Tickunas
Mr. Tomas Tickunas is a Consultant Plastic, Orthoplastic, and Hand Surgeon with expertise in adult and paediatric hand surgery (both elective and trauma), general plastic surgery including correction of deformities and removal of lesions such as skin cancer, paediatric plastic surgery, and complex microvascular reconstruction of the lower limb, major trauma, hand, and chest. He runs NHS clinics at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, and Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton. He completed the Pan Thames Plastic Surgery Training Rotation in London, with additional training in Wales and Yorkshire, and holds a European Diploma of Hand Surgery. Mr. Tickunas also completed TIG Advanced Training Post Fellowship in Hand Surgery under supervision from Mr. Boyce, current President of the British Society of Surgery of the Hand, and Mr. Newington, previous President. He has undertaken Aesthetic Surgery training in Swansea and London. He serves as the KSS Training Programme Director for Plastic Surgery (Kent, Surrey, and Sussex), contributing to the training of the next generation of plastic surgeons. Mr. Tickunas prioritises selecting the most appropriate surgical procedures tailored to each patient’s needs and emphasises clear communication to develop shared treatment strategies, particularly for complex cases. His areas of expertise include adult and paediatric hand surgery and plastic reconstructive surgery, including complex reconstruction after trauma. He is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH), and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).
