Dr Nevil Cheesman is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in the diagnosis and management of functional mental health conditions and dementia. Dr Cheesman has dual accreditation in old age and adult mental health, and has over 20 years of experience working in the NHS as a consultant in both inpatient and community services.

He is a highly qualified psychiatrist with an extensive research background, as well as completing BSc in psychology and holding postgraduate qualifications in Research, Mental Health Law and Teaching. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery at University College London in 2001. In 2005, he became a member of the reputable Royal College of Psychiatrists, and he became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2009. He has also completed a Certificate of Advanced Study of Learning and Teaching (CASLAT) from Imperial College London.

In 2021, Dr Cheesman was recognised for his leadership skills by receiving an NHS Leadership Academy Award in Executive Healthcare Leadership.
