She has previously trained in Child and Adolescent psychiatry as a higher specialist trainee giving her a indepth understanding of developmental aspects when assessing adults and has completed her core training in various subspecialities of psychiatry from the reputed St Marys` Training Scheme, London and Northern Deanery.

In the past, she has worked as a research psychiatrist in a clinical trial involving ADHD treatment in prisons.
