Dr. Luca Faconti is a Consultant in Hypertension and General Internal Medicine at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and a Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London. He brings extensive clinical and academic expertise to the care of patients with complex and difficult-to-treat blood pressure disorders.

Dr. Faconti graduated with honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa, where he also completed his specialist training in Internal Medicine at the European Society of Hypertension (ESH) Centre of Excellence for the diagnosis and management of arterial hypertension.

After relocating to London, he joined King’s College London and began practising as a consultant in the specialist hypertension clinic at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Faconti developed a strong research interest in the role of ethnicity in cardiovascular health. Supported by the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence, he earned a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine in 2021.

Dr. Faconti’s clinical work focuses on the management of resistant and secondary hypertension, cardiovascular risk stratification, and the prevention of long-term complications in young patient with hyp[ertension. He has a particular interest in translating advances in vascular ageing, cardiovascular imaging and blood pressure research into practical strategies for patient care.

Dr. Faconti is an active member of several professional organisations, including the British and Irish Hypertension Society (BIHS) where he currently serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Educationon Standing Comitee and the European Society of Hypertension. Through these roles, he contributes to international research collaborations, education initiatives, and guideline development including the treatment of resustant hypertension and secondary hypertension.
