Dr Savvatis did his medical training abroad, at the Department of Cardiology at the Charité University Hospital in Germany. He has also been awarded a PhD for his work on the immunomodulatory role of matrix metalloproteinases in acute myocarditis. He has also worked as a Clinical Scientist at the Charité University Hospital and the Centre for Regenerative Therapies.
