About Dr Nick Linton
Dr Nick Linton is a consultant cardiologist who specialises in heart rhythm conditions. He sees patients with a variety of symptoms, including palpitation, chest pain, shortness of breath, and collapses. He performs pacemaker and defibrillator implantation as well as cardiac ablation for all types of arrhythmia. He is also an Associate Clinical Professor in Bioengineering at Imperial College London. Prior to medicine, Dr Linton graduated with a Master's Degree in Engineering, Economics, and Management from Oxford University. Following a period spent creating novel cardiac output monitoring equipment, he went on to study medicine at King's College, London. He undertook specialist cardiology training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (St Mary's and Hammersmith hospitals) and St Thomas' Hospital. He also did a fellowship in Bordeaux, a world-renowned centre for cardiac electrophysiology. Dr Linton has expertise in the assessment, investigation, and invasive treatment of heart problems. He uses his unique knowledge of engineering in his medical research. He is particularly interested in ablation treatments that use 3D Mapping technology: he and his colleagues at Imperial College have developed a leading cardiac mapping method that is now incorporated into the Carto System and used globally.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
