Dr Christos Kouimtsidis is a UK-based Psychiatrist. Dr Kouimtsidis completed medical training at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 1990. Following this, Dr Kouimtsidis undertook further training in the UK, completing psychiatric training at Guys and St Thomas (UMDS) rotation scheme and obtaining an MSc in 1997. Dr Kouimtsidis then moved to St George's University (SGUL) for senior training in addictions, receiving CCST in 2002. In 2009, Dr Kouimtsidis completed a PhD at King's College London (KCL).
Dr Kouimtsidis' main research interest is the hybrid models of addiction, through the combination of biological and psychological understanding and treatment. Dr Kouimtsidis introduced the concept of structured preparation before alcohol detox (SPADe) and that of pre-habilitation in addictions.
Dr Kouimtsidis is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and in 2016, Dr Kouimtsidis became a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
