About Dr Andrew Archbold
Dr Andrew Archbold is a Consultant Cardiologist who is based in London at Barts Heart Centre, St. Bartholomew's Hospital. He sees patients privately in several clinics across London including Nuffield Health at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, Highgate Private Hospital, and The London Independent Hospital. Dr Archbold has a wealth of clinical experience in general cardiology such as the assessment of chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, and hypertension. His subspecialty interest is the management of coronary artery disease, including coronary angiography and stent procedures. He is also an expert in pre-operative assessment for non-cardiac surgery.
Dr Archbold's undergraduate training was at The London Hospital Medical College, graduating with several prizes in clinical medicine and surgery. His specialist training in cardiology was undertaken at The London Chest Hospital and St. Bartholomew's Hospital, following which he was appointed a Consultant Cardiologist in 2004.
Dr Archbold has held several clinical leadership roles - he is currently the Clinical Director for Barts Networked Cardiology Services, and the Honoroary Secretary for the British Cardiovascular Society, having previously been the Society's Vice President for Clinical Standards. Dr Archbold was an Advisor to the Royal College of Physicians for his region and sat on the national Clinical Reference Group for Cardiac Services for six years. He is also engaged heavily with the education and training of doctors, acting as an Educational Supervisor to many trainees.
