Dr Zach Vogiatzis is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist registered with the HCPC, and the founder of The Psychology Clinics. He offers therapy to adults in Central London (W1W) and online, working with individuals who are often outwardly high-functioning yet privately struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional stuckness or burnout.
A particular focus of his work is on stress-related and medically unexplained (persistent) physical symptoms (PPS), where psychological distress is expressed through the body, as well as repeating relationship patterns that maintain pressure, tension and disconnection.
Dr Vogiatzis’ approach to therapy is active, collaborative and formulation-led. Together with clients, he develops a clear understanding of how difficulties are maintained, mapping the mind-body cycle that links physical sensations, attention, emotion and behaviour. Therapy focuses on reducing symptom fear, avoidance and reassurance-seeking loops that perpetuate anxiety and physical symptoms, while also addressing long-standing relational and self-protective strategies such as people-pleasing, overcontrol, emotional withdrawal or shutdown. By working with these patterns as they arise in real time, change is designed to hold beyond the therapy room.
He works in an evidence-based way, drawing primarily on relational and psychodynamic approaches, including Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), alongside cognitive behavioural therapy and somatic approaches. EMDR is also incorporated where clinically appropriate.
Dr Vogiatzis is known for his thoughtful, engaged style and for supporting clients to develop lasting change in both emotional wellbeing and physical symptom management.
