Dr Chiu Kang

Dr Yuen Chiu Kang is a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon based in Victoria, Australia. He graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2010 and received his fellowship in General Surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon in 2019. Dr Kang spent the next three years sub-specialising in bariatric (weight-loss) surgery and upper gastrointestinal surgery where he trained under some of the most experienced surgeons in Melbourne. His post-fellowship training focused on advanced laparoscopic procedures and complex revisional bariatric surgeries where he was involved in more than 500 procedures. Dr Kang is committed to providing his patients with a patient-centred experience and is dedicated to working with them to achieve the best possible outcome. He is also passionate about educating the next generation of doctors and surgeons and currently holds the position of Clinical Lecturer at the University of Melbourne Medical School, HMO Supervisor, and Surgical Education Consultant at Northern Health. As a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GSA) and the Australian and New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association (ANZGOSA), Dr Kang brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice. His areas of practice include upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. With his extensive training and experience, he is committed to providing the highest quality care to his patients.
