About Voula Granitsiotis
Ms Voula Granitsiotis is a Consultant Urologist with extensive experience in complex female urology, pelvic floor dysfunction, and reconstructive urological surgery. She graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1990 and completed her internship in Athens before relocating to Glasgow for higher surgical training. Her general and urological training took place primarily in the West of Scotland, with additional experience in Edinburgh, where she gained specialised skills in managing complex female urology and reconstructive procedures. Ms Granitsiotis further enhanced her expertise through specialised training in the United States at Duke University, UC Davis, and USC Norris, focusing on female incontinence, pelvic floor disorders, and bladder reconstruction in patients with spina bifida. Appointed as a Consultant Urologist at the Southern General and Victoria Infirmary Hospitals in 2006, she led the introduction of videourodynamics for the West of Scotland and chaired the regional multidisciplinary team for female incontinence. She also managed surgical treatment for vaginal mesh complications and contributed to the national sacral nerve stimulation (SNS) service for Fowler’s syndrome and refractory detrusor overactivity. Since 2016, Ms Granitsiotis has been based at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, specialising in female incontinence, neuro-urology, and reconstructive urological surgery.
