Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Korn ist Neurologe und Immunologe. Seine Forschung konzentriert sich auf die Entstehung von adaptiven Immunantworten bei entzündlichen Erkrankungen des zentralen Nervensystems. Er entwickelt präklinische Modelle für Multiple Sklerose und Neuromyelitis optica. Für seine Forschungsarbeiten im Bereich von T-Helferzell-Antworten wurde Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Korn bereits mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Korn studierte Humanmedizin in Würzburg und London. Seine Facharztausbildung für Neurologie absolvierte er in Würzburg und Homburg/Saar. Nach einem mehrjährigen Forschungsaufenthalt an der Harvard Medical School in Boston habilitierte er sich 2009.
