Dr. Thibaut Merit is a highly skilled Endodontist with a background in advanced endodontic and dental care. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Nantes, France, in 2014, graduating with the highest honours. Following his initial studies, he gained valuable experience in general dentistry and oral surgery at the CHRU Hospital, Trousseau, in Tours, and in private practice settings before relocating to Ireland in 2017.
Dr. Merit furthered his expertise by studying bone biology at the Angers University School of Medicine, earning a postgraduate diploma. He then pursued specialised training in Endodontics, completing a postgraduate program in Nantes in 2018. His commitment to continuous learning has led him to train with some of the most renowned names in endodontic dentistry globally, and he graduated from the International Endodontic Program delivered by the University of the Pacific, San Francisco, in 2022.
Known for his meticulous approach, Dr. Merit practises exclusively with high magnification using an operatory microscope. His passion lies in minimally invasive, restoratively-driven endodontics, focusing on preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible to enhance the long-term viability of the treated tooth.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Merit is dedicated to educating fellow dentists to his approach and the techniques he has developed. He lectures and trains endodentists across Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe and the USA on advanced and minimally-invasive endodontic techniques. Dr. Merit is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics, and the European Society of Endodontics.
