About Dr Tejas Deshmukh
Dr. Tejas Deshmukh is a dedicated adult cardiologist with a keen interest in interventional cardiology. He sees patients with a range of cardiac conditions including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart rhythm disorders, heart failure, cardiovascular imaging, and preventive cardiology. Dr. Deshmukh is actively engaged in cardiovascular research and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in cardiac regeneration at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research. His research efforts are aimed at advancing understanding of cardiac regeneration, and he has received prestigious awards to support his research, including the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate Scholarship and the National Heart Foundation (NHF) Health Professionals Scholarship. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Deshmukh serves as a Clinical Lecturer at The University of Sydney, contributing to medical education and training. He is fluent in both English and Marathi. Dr. Deshmuk completed his undergraduate medical training (MBBS) at Western Sydney University and graduated in 2011. Subsequently, he completed various stages of medical training, including internship, residency, physician training, and cardiology advanced training at Westmead Hospital. In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2019. Dr. Deshmukh also holds a Masters in Clinical Trials Research (MClinTr) from the University of Sydney.
