About Dr Tania Widmer
Dr. Tania Widmer is an accomplished obstetrician and gynaecologist with a specialisation in fertility assessment and treatment, as well as the management of endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and abnormal uterine bleeding. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for women, whether they are experiencing normal or high-risk pregnancies, with a holistic and expert approach. Dr. Widmer performs a full range of gynaecological procedures, including laparoscopic surgery, colposcopy, infertility investigations, and assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF. She places a strong emphasis on optimising health prior to pregnancy and offers high-quality, safe care for families. Originally from Switzerland, Dr. Widmer graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 1999. After completing her Fellowship in obstetrics and gynaecology with honours, she moved to Queensland in 2008 to work at Mater Mother's Hospital in Brisbane. In 2010, she began her role as a specialist at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) and has been providing care exclusively in private practice at Gold Coast Private Hospital since 2016. Dr. Widmer is a founding member of Grace Private, where she continues to offer holistic specialist medical care for women of all ages. Her trusted medical expertise, combined with her friendly and supportive approach, is highly valued by her patients.
