About Sue Sutcliffe
Sue Sutcliffe is a dedicated Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist whose therapeutic approach is centred around her clients. She believes in a holistic perspective that recognises the connection between mental and physical health. Sue emphasises the importance of nutrition, exercise, and a healthy work-life balance as essential elements for promoting overall well-being. She firmly believes that maintaining these aspects of life significantly reduces the risk of depression, stress-related illnesses, obesity, addictions, and self-destructive behaviours. Sue's therapeutic work is strongly influenced by her belief in the healing and restorative power of nature. She has witnessed the positive impact of connecting with the natural world on mental and emotional well-being. To further this belief, Sue is actively developing an eco-therapy program, aiming to make nature a therapeutic and coaching resource more readily available to individuals. With a background as a qualified addictions counsellor, Sue draws upon her extensive experience and knowledge of family systems to work effectively with families, couples, and groups. She played a pivotal role in establishing one of the UK's earliest family and adolescent programs and continues to facilitate groups and conduct seminars on family dynamics. Sue firmly believes in each individual's capacity to make positive life changes and fulfil their potential. Sue is an experienced couples therapist, offering support to couples in exploring potential areas of difficulty within their relationships to prevent damaging conflicts in the future. She holds senior accreditation and is a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Additionally, she is a Coach and has qualifications in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Sue has also served as a tutor for counselling courses, ranging from certificate to degree levels. In her efforts to reduce the stigma associated with mental health, Sue actively participates in seminars and publications aimed at raising awareness in both the public and private sectors. Her goal is to promote early interventions and focus on prevention rather than solely relying on cure. Sue is a member of the BACP Coaching Division, where she works on integrating therapeutic and coaching modalities, as well as incorporating eco-therapy into coaching practices.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
