Dr. Spondita Goswami is a registered Clinical Psychologist specialising in child and adolescent mental health. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a chartered member of both the British Psychological Society and the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Goswami holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, an MS in Clinical Psychology, and a PhD. Her doctoral research, titled “Psycho-Social Perspective on Communication Disorder with Autistic Children”, was informed by early hands-on experience improving mental health services in rural India. Graduating top of her class in Clinical Psychology, she has since amassed over 15 years of professional experience across the UK, India, and Australia, working in community, residential, and hospital settings.
Her clinical expertise spans assessment, formulation, and intervention for a broad spectrum of mental health conditions, including depression, OCD, social phobia, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and self-harm. She has specialised training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Dr. Goswami is particularly experienced in working with young people and their families, delivering individual therapy, group-based interventions, and family sessions, including DBT-informed skills groups. She is also highly skilled in specialist assessments for children and adolescents with social communication difficulties, ADHD, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Dr. Goswami has contributed to multiple research papers and seminars on the psychological well-being of young people. She currently works within the NHS as a highly specialist Clinical Psychologist at St. George’s NHS Trust, where she is part of the CAMHS Access and Specialist Assessment Neurodevelopment Team, providing expert assessment and evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents.
