She then undertook higher specialist training with the London Deanery and went on to complete research at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, the Institute of child health and the Institute of ophthalmology leading to an MD in 2011.
Additionally, she is a founding member of the British Emergency Eye Care Society.
