About

Dr. Sharon Pettit offers one-to-one appointments either face-to-face or remotely. Her clinical days are currently Mondays and Tuesdays in Salisbury, with some flexibility for online sessions.

With over 25 years of experience in mental health, Dr. Pettit has worked in a variety of settings, including NHS outpatient services, in-patient wards, and the mental health crisis team, as well as in the private sector since 2004. She brings expertise in psychological approaches for mental health issues, ranging from common conditions like anxiety and depression to more complex and enduring challenges.

Dr. Pettit offers a personalised service, using evidence-based therapy approaches recommended by NICE Guidance (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence). She is happy to have a brief chat with potential clients to see if an appointment would be beneficial.

She qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2001 and further specialised in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a well-known therapy recommended by NICE for treating mental health issues. Additionally, she has training in other psychological approaches. Dr. Pettit has a passion for training and has spent 10 years as a senior lecturer at the University of Southampton, training CBT therapists. She continues to consult on training initiatives, particularly for students experiencing difficulties.
